What to Expect at Canton Wesleyan Church...

First-time guests at Canton Wesleyan Church often have questions about what to expect when they arrive. Here are answers to some of the more usual questions.

Service Times
There is a weekly prayer group that meets at 9:30 am. They pray for needs in the church as well as those in the community. We believe this group is foundational to all that we are and all that we do.

At 10:00 am there are small groups that meet in the sanctuary to discuss the previous week’s sermon. There is a list of questions that the groups go thru to facilitate discussion. The goal is to help each other grow deeper in our faith while growing closer together. Those that are absent due to illness, vacation, work, etc, have the option of using the church website to listen to the sermon. The website also includes a teaching outline designed for that week’s teaching.

Our worship service starts at 11:00 am and is usually finished around Noon.

Style of service
Our service is pretty relaxed. We don’t have any formal liturgy, and everyone has access to a printed order of service.

What’s the music like?
We love to worship God and we know that taste in music is different for everyone. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where everyone can worship together, despite our various musical preferences.

How Should I Dress?
Our church welcomes guests from all different walks of life... just be comfortable and tasteful. Jeans and a T-shirt are as acceptable as a suit or a dress.
Our address is 149 Newfound St., Canton, NC, 28716. The church is at the corner of Newfound and Walnut.

You already found us on the web, we’re on Facebook too:

As you might expect, our campus is alcohol and tobacco/vaping free.

Children’s Ministry
All volunteers are background screened and love to spend time with children. The children’s classrooms and the Nursery are on the lower level. At the back of the church, on the lower level, there is a door that provides direct access to these rooms. You can then proceed up either set of stairs to enter the sanctuary.

If you come at 10:00 am there are classes for infant to teens. If you arrive for the 11:00 am worship service, children ages infant thru grade 3 have the option of either attending the service or going to a children’s class. For children that are not ready to be in a class while their parent (s) stay in the service, there is an activity packet to help keep them occupied.
What are the people at Canton Wesleyan Church like?
We’re a multi-generational church with folks that come from many walks of life. While our personal backgrounds are different, the Gospel of Jesus Christ unites us. Unity is a big deal to us, especially with a world that seems more and more divided. To put it simply, Canton Wesleyan Church is full of friendly, loving people who are passionate about Jesus and helping others get to know Him.
